COVID-19 Weekly Impact Survey Results: Re-Opening

To determine the ongoing effects of COVID-19 on the industry, NAED has conducted a series of surveys for the past six weeks. By sharing your input, NAED can better assess the overall impact on sales, operations, and the workforce.

Below are the results from Week 6 of the COVID-19 Impact Survey.

SURVEY RESULTS FROM THE WEEK OF APRIL 27:

  • As the economy plans to re-open in the coming weeks we asked how our members were preparing and planning for re-opening their own business as well as any changes they may have for travel plans.
  • Reviewing and complying with all state and local regulations Were top of mind to the majority of participants.
  • After business re-opens employers will extending working from home as employees see fit and their job function allows it.
  • Companies are continuing curbside pick-up, which has become wildly popular.
  • 60% of participants plan to physically modify the workplace in the next few weeks with ideas like spacing out workstations, modifying floor plans, installing high-efficiency air filters and increasing ventilation, and replacing doorknobs with door hooks.
  • 75% of participants will monitor employees’ health, temperature checks at the door, and daily health checks or surveys are the most popular methods.
  • Travel Policies continue to be evaluated and for some it is too soon to say how their policies will change, 30% of participants state all travel will be canceled meanwhile some do still plan to travel but not allowing employees to travel if sick and adhering to state and local guidelines will be the number 1 priority if traveling.
