Welcome to “The Good Stuff”, where we highlight positive news and ways that employees of NAED-member companies go above and beyond to give back to their communities! If you have some “Good Stuff” that you would like to share with tEDmagazine, find out how below.
In this issue, we feature Panduit.
With back-to-school season in full swing, Panduit volunteers provided school supplies, clothing, shoes and hygiene items to MorningStar Mission Ministries, a non-denominational organization dedicated to relieving the spiritual and physical hunger of the poor.
Panduit provides employees the opportunity to give back to their local communities by offering volunteer time. Each employee has the ability to choose how they want to spend that time. Nearly two dozen employees took part in the MorningStar Mission Ministries event. Panduit employees took part in “Jump On The Bus”, where they unloaded a truck full of school supplies and then loaded those supplies into the cars of the families in need. More than 115 families received items they specifically requested for their children.
“Volunteering at MorningStar is a great way to give back to my local community,” Jessica Crichton, Manager of Channel Marketing at Panduit, told tED magazine. “I appreciate being able to see the families we are impacting by directly delivering the donated items to them. Being able see and hear the appreciation from them makes it all worth the effort. This event in particular was extra rewarding, as you an see the excitement on the kids face as they saw the large bags of supplies just for them getting loaded into their cars!”
“It was awesome to be part of MorningStar Missions’ annual back-to-school drive!”, Stacy Lacer, Channel Marketing Manager at Panduit, added. “This organization does a great job of giving back to the local community and the event was extremely well run, making it easy for families to pick up their much needed school supplies. The most rewarding part for me was watching the families receive their supplies and seeing the thankful appreciation on their faces! It was also great to see so many people from different backgrounds come together and donate their time for such a great cause.”
“When volunteering at the Mission it is very rewarding to know that we are helping to make a difference in other people’s lives,” Shannon Palmer, Fiber Lab Tech, said. “The smiles and Thank You’s are worth every minute spent there.”
