Josh Insogna, 35
Vice President of Sales
Keystone Technologies
Josh joined Keystone in early 2014. “It was pure luck,” he recalled. “I previously worked in the hospitality industry, but knew I always wanted to get into sales and primarily some kind of manufacturing sales. When I first started I had very little understanding of the electrical distribution industry and no lighting experience.”
Josh spent his first six years as a territory sales manager, primarily covering the central portion of the country (Texas north to Wisconsin). He was promoted to director of sales in March 2020 and then to vice president of the company’s distributor channel in July 2021.
“It’s no secret that our industry has experienced significant pressures since 2020 that we haven’t experienced before—significant increases in container rates, component shortages, staffing shortages, and a new remote or hybrid remote model,” Josh replied when asked about challenges the industry is currently facing. “At Keystone we took these challenges head on and continue to evolve. We have leaned on our planning/inventory to ensure that we have the right mix of product in stock, we continue to hire and plan for future positions and ensure while still working remote/hybrid remote that we are building a culture that we can be proud of. The owners of Keystone make it a point to continually invest in the future of our organization.”
Looking forward, Josh plans to continue to mature as a leader and manager. “I have a great team around me and want to do everything I can to make sure my team, sales reps, and our company is successful,” he said.
To someone just entering the industry, Josh has this advice: “Don’t be afraid to ask questions. It’s okay to say ‘I don’t know but I’ll find out.’ Continue to push yourself to learn and strive to be a resource of knowledge for your customers.”
When he’s not at work Josh said he can be found playing golf, hunting, fishing—“generally being outdoors.”
