Legrand NA Appoints Director of Circular Economy

Sarah Levine

Legrand North America announced the appointment of its newest Director of Circular Economy, Sarah Levine. She brings to the role a wealth of experience and knowledge in sustainable business practices, having worked with some of the world’s leading companies in this field, including Apple, Mattel, and Boeing. She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will help Legrand to reduce waste and maximize the lifespan of products.

As a company largely committed to sustainability and reducing environmental impact, Legrand believes that the newest addition to the team will continue to help further pursue the milestones laid out in its CSR roadmap. Legrand has set an ambitious goal to achieve a 15% recycled plastics use rate and a 40% recycled metals use rate in products manufactured by 2024, in addition to eliminating 100% of single-use plastic in flow packs and expanding polystyrene packaging. With Sarah spearheading these initiatives, Legrand continues to lead the charge for sustainability in the electrical industry and can be a resource to encourage others in the field.

Legrand’s vision of promoting a circular economy is to build an ecosystem in which the end of life of a product is taken into account from its design stage to limit its environmental impact. This ecosystem is based on more efficient use of natural resources, reducing carbon emissions and helping address climate change. It is also based on complete waste recovery, both for Legrand and the electrical and digital sector, in particular by setting up end-of-life processing channels for Legrand products.
