NEW YORK, N.Y. — Schneider Electric today announced a significant expansion of its global supply chain decarbonization programs during Climate Week NYC. As part of its long-standing commitment to net-zero value chains, Schneider Electric is deepening engagement with suppliers through an expanded suite of educational resources, regional market intelligence, and collaborative procurement pathways.
These enhancements are designed to accelerate Scope 3 decarbonization by helping suppliers reduce their own Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (energy-related) emissions, which are counted as Scope 3 emissions within their customers’ value chains. These tools and services, delivered at scale across entire supplier networks, offer a more comprehensive pathway to reducing upstream Scope 3 footprints, while empowering suppliers to advance their own sustainability journeys.
Scaling Impact Across Global Supply Chains
Schneider Electric’s supply chain decarbonization programs have now supported over 50 brands and engaged more than 2,700 supplier companies worldwide. Through these collective efforts, suppliers have procured 752,000 MWh of renewable electricity via Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs). In parallel, 19 companies participating in four multi-buyer power purchase agreement (PPA) cohorts have collectively secured over 1.3 TWh of renewable electricity.
As demand grows for scalable, cross-industry climate solutions, Schneider Electric continues to expand its suite of consortium models to accelerate collective action.
Deepening Educational Support for Scope 1 and Scope 2
To further empower suppliers, Schneider Electric is also expanding its technical training and educational offerings:
- New Training to Tackle Scope 1 Emissions at the Source: New Scope 1 content, available through Zeigo™ Hub, now includes modules on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, science-based target setting, energy efficiency, electrification strategies, and circularity, all essential building blocks for reducing direct operational emissions.
- Market Intelligence to Support Global Scope 2 Procurement: For Scope 2 decarbonization, Schneider Electric is delivering deeper market-specific guidance on renewable electricity procurement. Newly launched Market Briefs offer actionable insights across key geographies, including Brazil, Mexico, Poland, Europe (AIB), the U.S., Canada, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam, China, India, Singapore, the Philippines, and Japan. Within this global landscape, the APAC region presents some of the most complex challenges and opportunities, as distinct regulatory frameworks and differing levels of market maturity require highly tailored renewable procurement strategies.
To ensure global accessibility, all content is supported by live education webinars that are now equipped with simultaneous translation in 60+ languages, enabling suppliers to participate in their native language through both audio and real-time captions.
“To decarbonize global supply chains at scale, we need more than commitments; we need collaboration, innovation, and practical tools tailored to regional realities,” said John Powers, Vice President of Strategic Renewables at Schneider Electric. “This expansion reflects our belief that every supplier, in every geography, should have access to the insights and partnerships needed to accelerate their climate journey.”
