WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, announced that John Hoffman, Executive Vice President of Sales and Demand Creation for the company’s Electrical Infrastructure division, will retire in January 2027 following an exceptional 37-year career with the organization. Kevin Major, current Vice President and General Manager for Legrand’s Cablofil and Power Bus Way businesses, will succeed Hoffman and assume leadership of the sales organization upon Hoffman’s retirement.
Throughout his long tenure with Legrand, Hoffman has played a pivotal role in shaping the Electrical Infrastructure division, formerly known as the Electrical Wiring Systems division, and establishing its market leadership across core categories in wiring devices, wire and cable management solutions, and overhead systems. Within the sales organization, he has championed a demand creation strategy that engages electrical engineers and contractors alongside Legrand’s network of distributors, to forge lasting partnerships built on trusted solutions and quality service. Hoffman has also taken an active part in the division’s expansion into new markets and channels as part of the leadership team for three strategic acquisitions within the last three years.
“John’s contributions to Legrand cannot be overstated,” commented Ravi Ramanathan, President of Legrand’s Electrical Infrastructure division. “Against a backdrop of industry changes, market fluctuations and our own evolution, John’s leadership has remained a north star for our sales organization for nearly 40 years. Through emphasis and example, he’s kept our teams focused on building customer relationships and creating value through both what we sell and how we sell it. This way of doing business has supported our strong position and growth while helping to develop a new generation of Legrand sales leaders. That is an impact that will be felt long beyond his retirement.”
Hoffman earned NAED’s Associate Distinguished Service Award in 2020. The award recognizes an individual associated with an electrical manufacturing firm who has consistently been active in promoting and supporting the tenets and goals of NAED.
Reflecting on his career, Hoffman expressed gratitude for the colleagues and customers, including numerous mentors and mentees, who have been part of his professional journey.
“It has been a privilege to spend my career with Legrand,” said Hoffman. “I am incredibly proud of what we have built together, both culturally and commercially. While I am looking forward to spending more time with my wife, Annie, and our family, and friends, I am equally excited about Legrand’s future. The depth of talent within our organization is unmatched. I look forward to seeing the team’s continued success as they advance Legrand’s global ‘Ambition 2030’ strategy and beyond.”

Hoffman also expressed confidence in his successor, Kevin Major, who brings 18 years of leadership with Legrand into his new role. Prior to leading a period of record growth and capacity expansion for the Cablofil business, Major served in sales and marketing leadership positions. As the southern region’s Vice President for the Electrical Distribution channel, he was a key player in the division’s early extension into the data center market – now a core area of focus and growth for Legrand worldwide.
“Kevin’s energy, expertise and commitment to delivering results have been evident throughout his career at Legrand,” said Hoffman. “His past roles have equipped him with an ideal blend of experiences, extending across multiple of our channels and including invaluable first-hand familiarity with the data center market. As we evolve with the division’s growth, Kevin is particularly well-prepared to lead the integration of the Avtron sales team into our broader sales organization and to champion collaboration that makes the most of a now stronger portfolio. I have every confidence that he will successfully guide the sales organization into its next chapter.”
Major said he is honored by the opportunity and appreciative of Hoffman’s mentorship and leadership.
“John has been an outstanding leader and an important influence throughout my career,” said Major. “I am grateful for the trust Ravi and John are placing in me to continue this trajectory of growth that has been so much of John’s legacy at Legrand. I am excited to work alongside our talented teams to build on Legrand’s momentum and pursue the opportunities ahead.”
The leadership change will take effect in late January 2027 to ensure a seamless transition and uninterrupted support for Legrand’s customers and internal teams through the remainder of 2026.
