ZURICH, Switzerland — ABB’s Machine Automation (B&R) division has announced the appointment of Christian Strahberger as its new president.
Strahberger has held executive positions with business responsibility (P/L responsibility) for 25 years in the fields of mechanical engineering, drive technology, motion control, and power electronics. He joined B&R in Austria from Danfoss in Denmark. At Danfoss, he held numerous international leadership positions, most recently as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Semiconductor Manufacturing at Semikron Danfoss. Prior to that, he spent 14 years as a senior leader in technology and business at Singulus Technologies, Schottel, and Voith.
“I am thrilled to take on this new challenge at ABB and have the opportunity to shape the next generation of our Machine Automation & Regeneration (B&R) division,” said Strahberger. “Together with the team, I will drive innovation that creates value for our customers and ensure that B&R remains a trusted partner in a rapidly changing market environment.
As the new president, he will focus on supporting customers in improving productivity and strengthening their competitiveness, as well as driving innovation that leads to more sustainable business operations.
Strahberger holds a PhD in semiconductor physics from the Technical University of Munich. Combining scientific expertise with many years of international management experience in technology-driven industrial companies, he embodies a commitment to leveraging innovation as a driving force for sustainable growth.
