Regular contributor to the Distributed with tED magazine podcast Andrea Olson wrote an interesting blog on “drift”, which she defines as the “gap between what leadership intends and what the organization actually does. It’s the reason 60 to 90 percent of strategic plans die on the way to the front line.”
Olson says the failure doesn’t come from one large decision, but dozens of small ones that fall through the gaps.
How do you avoid “drift”, and how do you make sure you are providing clear and actionable strategies that meet the needs of your company and customers?
Olson and Desiree Grace, Vice President of Sales and Customer Care for the Americas at Mersen, discussed some of the best practices and ways drift happens.
