Once a thing of random science fairs and future world auto expos, electric vehicles have finally begun to hit their stride, along with the components that drive them, such as electric vehicle charging stations. According to Pike Research in its December 2011 report entitled Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment, “by 2017, more than 1.5 million locations to charge vehicles will be available in the United States and electric vehicle charging equipment sales will reach $4.3 billion worldwide.”
