Grainger’s corporate-wide sales increase in April was 12%, compared to April 2011.
While this is good news, it’s a smaller increase compared to previous months.
Grainger’s growth was down from numbers of 17%, 18%, and 15%, respectively, in January, February and March.
In the United States, daily sales rose 7%. The company said 4/7ths of that came from volume increases and 3/7ths from price jumps. Of all end-markets into which the company breaks U.S. sales, “contractor” was flat in the month.
Grainger’s April sales release and the results podcast script are posted on the company’s website.
