Baton Rouge, LA – ABB recently held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new 75,000-sq-ft factory located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The new factory will replace an existing 65,000 sq. ft. facility currently located in the Baton Rouge area. It will be a world-class production facility manufacturing ABB’s KTEK line of industrial level measurement devices used in a wide variety of industries including, oil & gas, chemicals, pulp & paper, power, municipal water and mining. The products will be shipped and supported globally from this new facility. The completion of this project is scheduled for late 2015. KTEK was acquired by ABB in 2010 and this is a major investment in the product line as the business grows.
The current factory employs 150 people, it is anticipated the new factory will require 50 additional new jobs over the next 5 years. Due to the growth anticipated over the next few years, ABB expects to be hiring engineers, technicians and skilled professionals involved in industrial technologies.
