Acuity Brands, ABE Join AD’s Electrical Division

WAYNE, Pa. – AD announced that Acuity Brands, Inc. will be joining the U.S. Electrical Division, effective January 1, 2017, and that America’s Best Electricmart, Inc. joined September 1, 2016.

Acuity Brands is a provider of indoor and outdoor lighting and energy management solutions. Their innovative products cover both conventional fixtures and advanced solid-state lighting solutions, and seamlessly integrate with powerful digital controls to provide superior energy efficiency and high quality of light. Forbes Magazine recently ranked Acuity Brands as 74th among the world’s most innovative companies.

John Mabbott, Sr. Vice President, Strategic Accounts of Acuity stated, “We are excited to become a strategic partner of US Affiliated Distributors. The combined strength of Acuity Brands, AD and the great members of AD is truly a winning combination. We anticipate and look forward to strong growth and success together for many years to come.”

Ed Crawford, AD’s President of the Electrical Division commented, “As a longtime supporter of AD Canada, Acuity Brands has consistently demonstrated the ability to outperform the category and drive significant innovation and volume growth. At AD, we are proud to be affiliated with such an outstanding company and excited to extend this partnership to our U.S. Electrical Division members.”

In a similar announcement by AD earlier this week, America’s Best Electricmart, Inc. (ABE) headquartered in Tamuning, Guam joined AD effective September 1, 2016.

ABE has serviced the electrical supply needs of Guam, a U.S. island territory in the Western Pacific, since 2001. Their primary market consists of commercial, utility and Government customers purchasing materials for construction, maintenance and renovation. ABE has enjoyed steady growth maintaining a large inventory and exceptional customer service.

Irene Hicks, President and GM of ABE stated, “America’s Best Electricmart has been continually growing and supporting the building and utility needs in Guam, the CNMI, and throughout the western pacific. With our emphasis on U.S. standards and U.S. products, we look forward to better supporting the needs of our western pacific communities through our relationship with AD.”

Crawford commented, “ABE is a wonderful addition to the Electrical Division Family. While geographically, most Americans might struggle to locate Guam on a map, the island is a U.S. territory with a strong North American influence. We believe that AD’s culture of diversity and respect for the local market will add significant value for ABE and be very well received by their customers.”
