Affiliated Distributors (AD) was honored to be named 2015’s “HR Department of the Year” in the Greater Philadelphia area by the HR Department of the Year Awards.
The HR Department of the Year Awards, now in its 18th year, recognizes companies with HR departments of varying sizes who have demonstrated overall service excellence and impacted the success of their organizations. Past winners with larger HR organizations include, Lincoln Financial Group, SAP America and Vanguard Group.
AD’s Chairman & CEO, Bill Weisberg shares, “There are many companies our size that don’t have an HR department and I understand their concern about ROI. But the decision we made to invest in HR has demonstrated tangible results. It has improved the quality of the talent we attract and the speed at which we fill positions. It has improved retention, engagement and the development of our associates. We’ve seen a clear and tangible return on this investment.”
David White, President of Shealy Electrical and a member of the AD Board of Directors commented on how AD plans to leverage this investment to the benefit of their 570 members across 7 industries, 3 countries and who collectively have over 55,000 employees. “Human capital is a key area where distributors need to invest in order to stay relevant in this industry.
