The American Lighting Association (ALA) has relocated its national headquarters within the Dallas Market Center (DMC) to be more central to the residential lighting industry, moving from the 10th floor of the World Trade Center to the fourth floor of the Trade Mart (TM 4818) adjoining The SMART Center.
Five years ago, ALA and DMC celebrated the opening of The SMART Center as a place for the industry to meet, relax, and learn during Lightovation and throughout the year. The headquarters move allows ALA to be conveniently located near many of its member showrooms in the DMC and creates additional space for ALA members to gather during Lightovation.
“When DMC told us about the open space next to The SMART Center, we were immediately excited by the prospect of being more centrally located among our members during Lightovation,” said Larry Lauck, ALA President and CEO. “We want our new space to serve as a home base for our members any time they are visiting the Dallas area.”
ALA will continue to host committee meetings and education sessions in The SMART Center’s seminar space during Lightovation. Members are also welcome to stop in to the market to mingle and relax in the common areas, grab a snack, visit with ALA staff, or use the available workspaces as needed.
