SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — On April 29, Atlantic Coast Electric Supply (ACES), headquartered in Summerville, hosted a 2020 NFPA NEC Grounding and Bonding Seminar featuring Mike Holt, a nationally recognized expert on the NEC standards, as the in-person instructor.
Nearly 200 participants attended the eight-hour seminar, which qualified for continuing education credit hours in multiple jurisdictions.
ACES President and CEO John Marshall opened the event by announcing he was pleased to have Holt in South Carolina again to cover the topic. He explained that Holt would do the entire presentation and appear for additional questions at the industry tradeshow that followed this event.
The event was at the Lowcountry Conference Center in Summerville and occupied all the 15,000 square-foot space available for classroom and meeting space. Participants were treated to a continental breakfast, a luncheon reception and course materials, including a personal copy of Holt’s “Illustrated Guide to Understanding the NEC Requirements for Bonding and Grounding.” NEC 2020 and 2023 code books and tabs were also available for purchase.
“It was great to join ACES in South Carolina and to meet so many industry professionals at the seminar and trade show,” Holt said. “It’s so important to stay on top of the industry changes, and classes like this help ensure that electricians work safely, comply with the Code, and are the best professionals possible.
Attendees described the event as informative and practical.
“I got Mike’s book a few months ago and have been studying a lot,” said attendee Jonathan Brantley. “This presentation was very helpful to my understanding of grounding and bonding.”
