Entries were judge in 10 categories: Brand Awareness, Video, Website, Event, Digital/Social Media, Literature/Selling Tool, Print Ad, Product Launch, Public Relations, and Integrated Promotional Campaign. Overall Best of the Best winners were also recognized.
Border States Electric, headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota, was named the winner of the Digital/Social Media award for distributors with more than $700 million in revenue. Border States wanted to do something special to express its gratitude and honor its 100-plus employee-owners who are also military veterans. So over a month, BSE posted stories of some of its veterans on the company intranet and tied it to social media. The company also created a blog and donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
