FARGO, N.D. — Border States Electric (BSE) recently named Ryan Evans as Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Construction, and Jeff Stauffer has been named a regional Utility Sales Director.
Evans is responsible for growing the construction market and developing strategies and initiatives to meet customer business challenges.
Evans spent the last 22 years in the electrical and industrial distribution industry and is joining Border States most recently from Sonepar, where he served as Vice President of Sales for World Electric. Starting in the warehouse as a summer temp at 16, Evans worked his way up through warehouse, outside sales, branch management, district management, and profit and loss leadership positions.
He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Evans and his wife Robin will reside in Fargo.
Also new at the company, Jeff Stauffer has been named Utility Sales Director for the eastern Landis & Gyr territory at Border States Electric (BSE). The territory covers Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Indiana.
Stauffer began his career in 1993 as a staff engineer with Power Line Supply Company, where he most recently served as president and was responsible for overseeing operations, including account management, customer service, supply chain, and warehousing.
He has served as the secretary/treasurer for the North American Association of Utility Distributors (NAAUD) since 2015, and as chair of the Great Lakes Electric Meter School.
Stauffer received his bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and business administration from Michigan Technological University where he also served as business manager for the school’s newspaper — The Michigan Tech Lode.
Stauffer and his wife, Deb, are devoted to raising money for local and national charities including WISE, Angels of Action, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the National Multiple Sclerosis and the Mecosta County Community Foundation, where he and Deb established an endowed scholarship in name of their late son, Noah.
The Stauffer’s other son, Sam, is attending Northern Michigan University, Marquette.
