Border States Electric announces promotions, retirement

Greg Thrall

Last month, Greg Thrall retired from his role as senior vice president of operations and IT at BSE. Thrall joined BSE in 1973 and spent 39 years working for the company.

Thrall held in several management roles at both branch and corporate level. He has held the positions of assistant warehouse supervisor, city desk representative, account manager, branch manager, vice president of operation and senior vice president of operations and IT. He also served on the executive council, board of directors and the senior leadership team.

BSE said that Thrall has made a significant impact at the company through his roles on several committees, including safety, technology, whistle blower and donations. As project manager, Thrall was also key in the review and purchase of BSE’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Phil Settles

Phil Settles has been named vice president of the south central region for Border States Electric (BSE). The company’s 14 branches in Texas and New Mexico make up its south central region.

Settles has been with BSE since 2006 when it acquired Nunn Electric Supply. He had worked for Nunn since 2001. During his time with BSE, Settles has served as area operations manager, branch operations manager and south central region operations manager.

Blake Sexton

BSE has named Blake Sexton, vice president of business development, to its executive council. The executive council helps the board of directors with long-term planning, setting priorities and enhancing communication across the company management.

Sexton has worked at BSE since 1993 and has held positions such as, vice president of sales, vice president-southwest region, southwest region business development manager and director of business development.

Keith Holland

Keith Holland has been named BSE’s vice president of supply chain services. He joined BSE in 2002 and has held the positions of manager of the industrial supply division and business development manager. He most recently served as the director of supply chain services.

Holland has also served as a network delegate to the affiliated distributors industrial supply division and is a member of the product committee.

Gerald Buck

Gerald “Poke” Buck has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing at BSE. He has worked for BSE since 2003 and has held the positions of supply chain services specialist, business development specialist, northwest region manager and vice president northwest region.

Most recently, Buck served as vice president of sales. He has also been a member of the executive council since 2005.
