Border States Electric names northeast region operation manager, management trainees

Fargo, N.D.-based Border States Electric (BSE) recently appointed
Greg Hallfielder to the role of northeast region operation manager.

Greg Hallfielder Hallfielder started at BSE in 1994 as a warehouse associate
at the company’s Minneapolis branch. Since joining BSE, Hallfielder has held
several positions including city desk representative, warehouse manager and
branch quality coordinator.

Prior to his appointment as northeast region manager,
Hallfielder served as operation manager for the Brooklyn Park branch—a position
he held since 2009.

Hallfielder was part of the Nunn Electric and Minnesota
Electric acquisitions as an SAP trainer. He also spent 10 years overseeing the
ISO 9001-2008 systems.

In addition to his work with BSE, Hallfielder has been a
member of the United States Air Force Reserve for 28 years, where he serves as
senior master sergeant.

BSE also recently announced several new participants in the
company’s management trainee program.

Charlene Swanson Charlene Swanson will relocate to the company’s Sioux Falls,
S.D. branch. She previously served as the inventory planning supervisor for the
utility, gas and plumbing markets in the corporate office.
Thomas VanLoy Thomas VanLoy, who previously worked as the warehouse lead
at BSE’s St. Cloud, Minn. branch will remain at that location for the training
program.
Ryan Zimmerman Ryan Zimmerman was the warehouse supervisor at BSE’s Tuscon,
Ariz. location. He will relocate to the company’s Nashville, Tenn. branch.
Cedrick Phillips Cedrick Phillips joined BSE in April after graduation from
Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. He will be located at BSE’s Phoenix
branch.

During the 24-month program, management trainees gain
experience in all areas of branch sales and operations. They participate in
hands-on training and development and are given the opportunity to bild their
own personal leadership and management skills.

“The management training program provides challenging
opportunities for high potential employees who want to move into leadership
positions and are willing to relocate with the company,” said Tammy Miller, BSE’s
CEO. “This concentrated training program prepares individuals for current and
future management positions that will support our growth.”

Border States Electric has nearly 1,500 employees in 56
branches across 13 states. The company is 100% employee-owned and is the 8th largest electrical distributor in the country.
