San Jose, Calif. – On Friday, May 17th, 2013, Buckles-Smith acquired Plough Electric Supply of San Francisco. Both companies were founded in 1939 and have a focus on serving industrial customers of Northern California. Plough has built a successful business on the same values shared by Buckles-Smith of solution selling and putting customers first. The acquisition strengthens Buckles-Smith’s position as the leading independent distributor in Northern California serving the industrial OEM, end user markets, and gives Buckles-Smith a much-desired physical presence in San Francisco.
Buckles-Smith will initially operate the new San Francisco service center as Plough Electric Supply, a Buckles-Smith company. It is our intent to build on the strength and relationships Plough has established with its customers with the full support and resources available from Buckles-Smith. Through all of the noise of national chains and foreign consolidators, this acquisition builds on Buckles-Smith’s vision to be the best source for electrical supplies for their customers in Northern California.
