ROCKPORT, Texas — A resort-style town that sits on the coastline off of the Gulf of Mexico is Rockport, Texas. Crossing the bridge from Corpus Christi, City Electric Supply has opened a location in the area, making it the only electrical supply house past Harbor bridge in Rockport.
“It has always been a dream of mine to live by a waterfront, and being promoted to branch manager in Rockport has made that a reality for me,” said Branch Manager Shannon Fair. “I’m lucky to live and work in such a beautiful place, and I’m excited to see what we accomplish here at CES Rockport.”
In a prime location that CES spent over four months renovating, this location has over 3,000 square feet of space in the showroom, additional space for material in the front of the building, and two counter areas to accommodate foot traffic. The oversized automatic doors were designed to facilitate customers taking large loads to their vehicles on floats.
“Before this location was here, contractors and electricians would have to drive 30-40 minutes one way back into the mainland to get materials,” said Shannon. “During the tourist season, that can add several hours onto your travel. Now that we’re here, we can help job sites stay on track and complete projects quicker.”
What makes the location even more special for Shannon was getting to be involved in the process from the very beginning.
“I was here every day overlooking the remodel of the building,” said Shannon. “Getting to be personally involved in the renovation meant a lot to me. It was great to get to know the contractors that helped us with the renovation on a more personal level, and I look forward to getting to help them with materials in the future.”
Shannon isn’t the only CES team member excited to be in Rockport.
“The people here in Rockport are some of the nicest people I have ever met,” said District Manager Tyler Cannon. “It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know customers and community members while watching this CES location come to life.”
The rest of the CES Rockport team is excited to bring their expertise to the area. With over 65 years of combined experience in the industry across the staff, Shannon himself has 35 years of varied experience in the industry, from commercial and residential lighting to large-scale DataComm projects.
“Half of my team comes from the military. They are hardworking, with great energy, and they are excited to be part of opening this branch,” said Shannon. “I have other team members that have over 15 years of experience in various industry roles, so I’m looking forward to seeing everyone come together and make this branch shine.”
