DALLAS — City Electric Supply (CES) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Brighter Future Scholarship. CES Cares, the social impact division of CES, created the program to support the next generation of skilled professionals entering the electrical industry. Ten winners across North America will each receive $2,000 toward their education and a Milwaukee® Tool starter tool kit to help them begin their careers.
Applicants must be planning to attend a trade school or complete a certification program. A panel of industry professionals will review submissions and select the scholarship recipients.
“We’re proud to continue to support the next generation of electricians as they begin their careers,” said CES Cares Social Impact Manager Karen Gray. “The Brighter Future Scholarship helps reduce some of the financial barriers that come with starting a career in the skilled trades by providing education funding and the tools students need to succeed.”
There has never been a better time to pursue a career in the electrical industry. As demand continues to grow for new construction, infrastructure improvements, renewable energy, EV charging, data centers and grid modernization, so do career opportunities for skilled electricians. The U.S. electrical services market was valued at $163.9 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $294.6 billion by 2034, growing at a 6.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of electricians is projected to grow 9% from 2024 to 2034, with approximately 81,000 job openings each year driven by industry growth and workforce retirements. Across North America, demand for skilled professionals continues to create long-term career opportunities for those entering the trade.
How to apply
Applicants must select a trade school or certification program and submit a 500-750-word essay explaining why they chose a career in the electrical industry and where they see themselves in the future.
