City Electric Supply Celebrates Another Florida Branch Opening

APOPKA, Fla. — Apopka, Florida, recently celebrated the grand opening of a new store in town. Electrical wholesale distributor City Electric Supply is the only electrical supply house in the area and is thrilled to be officially open for business. This branch is led by manager Ed Ustanik, who began his journey with the company nearly two decades ago. A seasoned veteran in the trades, Ustanik has worked in the electrical industry since 1988. This will be the fifth CES location he’s managed during his career with the company.

“I started my journey with CES in 2005 while working in Chicago as an operations manager. I received a promotion to branch manager two years later, and I’ve worked at multiple CES locations since then,” said Ustanik.

Making a move with his wife and daughter in 2018, Ustanik moved down to Florida. Still working for CES, his favorite part about his 18-year journey with CES? The ability to grow with the company.

“Back in 2005, I started in Chicago as an operations manager with a brand-new store. Within two years, I was given the opportunity to run my own CES location. I was given the opportunity to move to Florida and have been working with CES ever since. Now, I have the opportunity to open another store and watch it grow,” he said.

Ustanik’s favorite part about his time with CES isn’t just his own growth—it’s watching others grow around him as well.

“I also have seen so many others work hard and be promoted to new positions. I had a driver who is now a district manager, and I’ve seen two sales representatives be promoted to run their own stores. It is the coolest thing seeing those who have worked so hard move into other roles,” said Ed.

While opening CES Apopka, District Manager Jim Glass searched for the best spot. Picking a location next to a major Florida highway and working together with Ustanik, the team started the renovations in February, building offices, a bathroom, and a breakroom.

“The building was a frame, and we completed renovations in June. Once the process of putting up shelving and slat board began, we were finally able to start getting material put in the store,” said Ustanik.

The cooperative effort from everyone involved paid off, and customers have been coming by since the doors opened.

“We had customers stop in as we were opening, and they are so excited we are finally here. Our counter has stayed busy with customers. The response I’ve received from customers is very positive, and we’re happy to be here,” said Ustanik.

“CES Apopka is in such a convenient location for me. I live minutes away, so the first thing I do is stop in at the store, and then, I head out for my day,” said Eric Rivera, Director of Immersion Electric. “I shop with Apopka because of Danny, the operations manager, and the team. I trust them, and we have a great relationship.”

CES Apopka intends to fill a need for businesses in the area. Currently, it’s the only electrical supply house in the area.

“There’s a lot of electrical contractors, manufacturers, and businesses in the area. We aim to help all businesses in every industry with their needs,” said Ustanik.

CES Apopka recently celebrated its grand opening with customers, vendors, and community members.
