City Electric Supply Honors Branches Celebrating 25 Years

DALLAS — Big celebrations across the Carolinas have recently taken place, all just a few hours from one another. City Electric Supply (CES) had not only one, but four branches celebrate 25-year anniversaries of service to their communities. In their respective capitals of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Columbia, South Carolina, the festivities were second to none. Just a short drive outside of their capitols, the branches of Knightdale, NC and Lexington, SC celebrated their anniversaries as well.

“I am so proud to be part of this milestone! All of us at CES are so thankful for our customers and the relationships we have built in this community,” said Knightdale Branch Manager LaDonna Abbacchi. “Building those relationships has been the highlight of my career here. It has been amazing watching the growth that has occurred, and I’m honored to be part of it.”

When the team members have been with the branch since the very beginning, it makes celebrations like these even more special. Outside Salesman Kevin Norton has been with the Lexington branch for the entire 25 years it has been established, and so has District Manager Bruce Marvin.

“We have met so many great people over the years and have become embedded in the community. I hope our customers realize the pride we take in serving our communities,” said Marvin.

In the everyday bustle of work, sometimes those personal conversations that CES employees treasure happen quickly to get customers back to the job. Events, where customers and CES staff get to interact with each other without having to watch the clock, are always meaningful.

“After the event, a lot of customers called to say thank you,” said Raleigh Branch Manager Alex Sultan. “Having customers show up to support us shows they believe in us and respect us, and we appreciate that. We’re big on customer service, we always want to help them with whatever they’re working on.”

“I love that we can show how much we really do value customers and employees as we did at this 25th-anniversary event,” said West Columbia Branch Manager Frank Maples. “Customer service is priority here. It doesn’t matter what your position is. Whatever we can contribute — whether contacting a customer, finding, or delivering material, or filling an order — it’s a team effort.”

As a family business, CES prides itself on forming relationships with customers, as they are an extension of the CES family; going above and beyond for people every day is what lets them know they are part of the family. Watching the growth across the Carolinas from 25 years ago to now, is something that has left an impact on everyone.

“The highlight of my career is seeing CES grow to a 500+ branch network and having the opportunity to be a small part of that success,” said Raleigh Central District Manager Jay Lassiter. “Service excellence is a never-ending process, and our CES associates are dedicated to that process.”

The anniversaries had catered food and special product deals; big-name vendors were on-site, discussing their newest products and giving demonstrations. They were also able to answer any questions customers had.

Community members had the opportunity to win lots of raffles and prizes; these giveaways included a Yeti Tundra 45, a SAMSUNG 40- inch TV, F4P Bluetooth Speakers, CES Buckets O’ Tools, and more! RECTEQ ice coolers and pellet grills were among the popular grand prizes that lucky attendees could walk away with.

And there’s more fun coming soon. Over the next several weeks, more CES branches across the Carolinas are celebrating 25-year anniversaries. Getting to celebrate their successes soon is icing on the cake. City Electric Supply can’t wait to celebrate the milestones to come!

“I’m very honored to be a part of these 25th-anniversary celebrations,” said Regional Manager of the Columbia District, R.T. Smith. “I’ve been with the company long enough to remember when these branches were just getting started. So, it’s a privilege to be around to see their success and growth over all these years. All credit goes to the entire branch team and their tremendous efforts, and to our customers who have loyally supported us after all this time.”
