City Electric Supply Opens 10th Branch in Michigan

FENTON, Mich. — According to the city of Fenton, the town has been experiencing a significant increase in new development and residential growth since 2010. The community is currently embarking on a master plan that will be used to guide development decisions over the next 10 to 15 years. City Electric Supply is excited to support the growth with the opening of CES Fenton, the 10th company branch in the state of Michigan.

“We are trying to expand our web of branches here in Michigan, and we wanted to put a new CES location in Fenton,” said District Manager Brad Jenks. “This CES location will help connect some dots between our existing branches, such as Brighton, Waterford, and Lansing, to help support our existing business and help new customers with their needs as well.”

CES Fenton will be led by Branch Manager Maxwell George. Maxwell and his team are all locals to the community. After moving away in 2017 for a short period, Maxwell is back and ready to help growth in Fenton however he can.

“Fenton has always been home for me. To be able to come back to my hometown and have a hand in making our community a little brighter is a dream come true,” said Maxwell. “Everybody on the team is from Fenton, and we are excited to open this branch. I’ve been given the opportunity to prove myself and work for something that means so much to me. It’s a great honor.”

Maxwell and the team started looking for the perfect location to put an electrical supply house in Genesee County over five months ago.

He reflected and said, “Our building was an empty shell when we first set eyes on it, but we could see immediately that it was the perfect home for our branch.”

With a few obstacles from some construction delays, the team worked hard to get CES Fenton open as soon as possible to serve the community. The result? The branch was ready to open in less than three months.

“The coolest thing was being involved in the process from the beginning and seeing our branch take life,” said Maxwell. “It has transformed from having dirt floors and being empty to a fully stocked and operational branch.”

Maxwell has been with the company for over five years, starting with CES as a sales representative at the Brighton location. Before coming to CES, he worked in the electrical field. The other team members at CES Fenton have their own industry experience as well.

“I’m a fourth-year electrical apprentice, with over eight years of electrical industry schooling,” said Maxwell. “Chris, our counter guy, started in property maintenance for buildings. His knowledge is a great fit for us here. Trent is a sales professional, and we’ve known each other since I was around 10 years old. It’s a great group here, and I can’t wait to see how much we grow.”

CES Fenton is excited to help customers with all of their electrical needs. Make sure you stop in and say hello!
