City Electric Supply Opens Branch in South Carolina

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — City Electric Supply (CES) recently opened a branch in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. With close to 600 branches across the United States, Moncks Corner is the company’s 31st branch in South Carolina.

“The next closest CES branch is about 45 minutes away, so we’re in the best location possible to help customers. I want to meet them, help with their needs, and support the community as a whole,” said CES Moncks Corner Branch Manager Brandon Dryden.

Currently in a building that was previously used as a bulk store, CES already owned the space. When the town’s population more than doubled to over 13,000 in the past year, according to the United States Census Bureau, the company decided to transform the store into an electrical supply house for the area.

With a lot of dedication, the team went to work, making sure the branch looked its best for opening. Determined to make sure everything looked its best, this group made time to build out a new custom counter in just under two months.

“We had to redo the floors, the racking, and the slat wall and had to have the lights rewired. The team did most of the work, and it was really rewarding to see it all come together,” said District Manager Michael Dryden.

And as a father and son manager duo here at Moncks Corner, Brandon is grateful he gets to work and learn under his father.

“Working with family is great. My dad teaches me a lot even at home, showing me stuff or talking about building jobs,’ said Brandon. “Not everyone gets to say that. I go home, and he can show me stuff. It’s a really great tool to have.”

Coming from another CES location, Brandon has been a part of the CES family for over 3 and a half years. He also brings construction and electrical experience prior to this from his time in the Navy.

“I’m looking forward to making this branch my own. I have Lisa, our Sales Representative, who does builder packages. Jesse in the warehouse, who has lots of maintenance experience to help customers work through any problems,” said Brandon.

In an area that includes a school system, electrical cooperative plants, and a telecom company, CES Moncks Corner is eager to play in role in serving all its customer’s needs.

“We’re ready to supply a mix of industrial, residential, and even plumbing. We do a lot of residential builder packages, like progress lighting and more decorative stuff,” said Michael.
