CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — About 30 miles south of Denver, the new Castle Rock branch is extending the City Electric Supply (CES) network outside the city’s metropolitan area. With several major telecommunication companies nearby and located in an industrial area, Castle Rock is set in an ideal location to service both commercial and residential markets.
More than 50 miles of trails, 19 developed parks, and 5,400 acres of open space brings an inviting atmosphere to the town. However, despite the open space, the Castle Rock branch didn’t have too many options for its location. Branch Manager Jeff Andersen selected a spot within eyesight of the town’s namesake, a castle-like butte located in the middle of the town.
“We can see Castle Rock from our parking lot. It is a beautiful rock formation which the city is named after,” Andersen said.
After viewing several potential locations for the branch, Andersen knew this central location was perfect for the Castle Rock branch.
“We’re conveniently located right off the highway in an industrial area. It’s really a great location for us,” he said.
After deciding on the building’s location, Andersen and his team knew plenty of remodeling work lay ahead of them. With an opening set for the last weekend of April, a lot of hard work and sweat went into the branch to make sure the store was ready to open.
“We made a really nice showroom with polished concrete flooring. We put in a dividing wall between the showroom and warehouse, and the tall ceilings make the branch feel roomy and spacious. We wanted to make doing business with us easy and user-friendly, and this branch definitely has that feel to it,” Andersen said.
With more than 16 years of experience in the industry, Andersen has held just about every position in electrical distribution, from driver and outside sales to manager of a few branches in California. Andersen has been with CES for the last seven months, and he jumped at the opportunity when he heard of a new branch opening in Colorado.
“The opportunity to run my own branch and the autonomy to make decisions at the branch level excites me,” Andersen said.
With more than 60 years of combined staff experience, Andersen believes this will be a strong and successful branch.
“My Operations Manager Rusty Anderson has over 25 years of experience in electrical wholesale. We preach service, and Rusty has it in him. My Outside Sales Rep Randy Lindberg has the personality to really connect with people and understand where we can help them. He is a solutions provider,” Andersen said.
Andersen said he’s excited to work for CES because the people who make up the company are outstanding, and he’ll have the opportunity to establish a connection with the customers in Castle Rock.
“We believe service comes first and make sure to take care of the customer. We like to go out of our way to get what the customer needs, even if we have to pick it up and deliver it. Making sure the customer feels comfortable and establishing a friendship with them over time is my goal.”
