City Electric Supply Opens Newest Branch in North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte, North Carolina is the 14th largest city in the United States according to World Population Review. With the area seeing so much growth, electrical wholesale distributor City Electric Supply (CES) has opened its seventh branch in the metropolitan area, making it the 78th branch the company has in the state.

As the fastest growing city in the state, Charlotte West Branch Manager Miguel Cruzado Jr. knows that more growth is coming to the area, and he wants his branch to be prepared to help every kind of customer that walks through the doors.

“There are developments that are happening over the next five to ten years. There’s going to be everything from lake homes, parks, walking trails, apartments, businesses, restaurants — the possibilities are endless. And my branch wants to be ready,” said Miguel.

CES found its location after eight months of searching. When it found a building that would need some revamping, another City Electric Supply location in the area stepped up to help with all of Charlotte Wests’ electrical wiring and needs.

With hard work, determination, and a great attitude, Miguel made sure to stay busy while the store was finalizing preparations to open. This included getting the warehouse ready to service needs, getting supplies needed to stock the shelves, and signing up vendors.

“Though it can be a bit challenging to get certain materials right now, we have been truly blessed. We have a warehouse that is stocked up and ready to go,” said Miguel.

But Miguel has not had to work alone to get this branch looking its best. Not only does he have a team full of well-versed, experienced workers from various backgrounds, Miguel also gets to work with someone he’s extremely close to, his son.

“My operations manager is my son, also named Miguel, who has over five years of experience and worked at one of the busiest CES locations in the nation. Sales Rep Jason Rick came from a different industry, but he’s a natural. Trenton Skipper works counter sales with a great HVAC background. Our new van driver, Dewayne Stowe, is a Charlotte native who knows the area well,” said Miguel.

The entire team came working hard together to put final preparations into the branch and how it looked, and it certainly paid off.

“My son stepped up and really made it happen with the rest of our team. I can’t take credit for how great our warehouse looks,” said Miguel.

Excited to take the experience level and potential of the team members and elevate it, Miguel is eager to verse everyone in the CES way of doing things- which means providing quality customer service.

“What excites me the most is how we get to start from scratch in a way,” said Miguel. “My goal is to teach these guys so they can grow and never feel like they are stuck. We’re on a mission to be a powerhouse, and I’m thrilled to be in this area with this team.”
