MURRIETA, Calif. — City Electric Supply has opened a new branch in Murrieta, California, one of the fastest-growing cities in the state. Located between Los Angeles and San Diego, this beautiful community is in the center of an area with more than 22 million people with plenty of nearby residential and commercial builders.
“Murrieta is a small town, but it’s a growing town,” Branch Manager Ken Cassaday said. “It’s the fastest-growing city in Riverside County. Lots of residential and commercial construction going on, too. We work with the local contractors on the builds. Murrieta offers our branch a lot of great opportunities.”
An industry veteran of 34 years, Cassaday is new to City Electric Supply after joining last fall. He has worked in all facets of the electrical industry, making him well-suited to manage the Murrieta branch.
From working as an installer and delivery driver to a sales representative for a major manufacturer, Cassaday has been around the electrical business his whole life. Both his father and his uncle were contractors, and he would often work with them during the summers and on the weekends.
“I started running conduit at the age of 12. I would help my dad and my uncle in the field. My uncle was a lighting contractor, so I got a lot of good experience. Everything I learned came from working with my family — from overall product knowledge to customer service.”
The CES Murrieta branch has a large inventory so they can cater directly to their customers’ needs, and with a prime location right off I-15, they’ll be able to keep up. The branch also features a new store layout and a stunning showroom for showing off inventory.
“With the showroom layout, I like the fact that you come in the front door and it’s a big, long space that’s wide open. The larger showroom allows you to show more product so you can put more on the floor. Customers can actually see the product versus it being in the back. I think it’s really helped a lot,” said Cassaday.
What started as an empty warehouse, this newest CES branch has been transformed with new shelving, pallet racking, and lighting. To go with the newly renovated branch, Cassaday assembled a strong team of industry veterans with expert product knowledge and strong customer service skills.
“I have a great group of guys. We have more than 50 years of combined experience, so these guys really know their stuff. We’ll be serving mostly contractors in this area, and we have the knowledge to cater to them,” said Cassaday.
New to the CES family, Cassaday is very proud to have joined the company and to have the autonomy of running his own branch.
“I enjoy working for CES because they’re a family-owned business, and they let each branch manager control their store. Having a stand-alone branch allows me to run my store the way I think is best. Also, the ability to procure a variety of manufacturing lines is really helpful. I’m looking forward to what this store can do.”
