TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — City Electric Supply (CES) is expanding its local presence in Upstate South Carolina with the opening of its new location in Travelers Rest. As the only electrical wholesale distributor north of Greenville, CES Travelers Rest provides tools, supplies, and services to contractors, electricians, businesses, and communities across the growing region.
“Opening the CES Travelers Rest location was always part of our plan,” said District Manager Don Corbett. “There’s tremendous growth happening throughout the Upstate, from new housing and apartment communities to commercial and industrial development. We’re excited to be part of this growth and look forward to supporting the communities and businesses shaping the Upstate’s future.”
With a branch network of over 750 branches across the U.S. and Canada, and 37 CES branches in South Carolina, the new location gives CES a strategic presence in the growing area between Greenville and the surrounding communities. The branch will serve customers throughout Travelers Rest and beyond, offering CES’s full range of products and services, along with specialized solutions such as custom panelboards and switchboards through CES One-Line Service and custom wire cuts through CES Wire Services.
Marking the ninth CES branch under Corbett, the opening of CES Travelers Rest is a welcome addition for the Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re thrilled to welcome City Electric Supply to Travelers Rest and to the GTRCC business community. The addition of CES brings another valuable resource to our growing area, supporting local contractors, businesses, and residents alike,” said the Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce. “We’re grateful for their investment in Travelers Rest and look forward to seeing them become an active part of our business community for years to come.”
The grand opening of CES Travelers Rest also marks a personal milestone for Branch Manager Austin Baker, who joined the company six years ago as a driver before moving into leadership and helping open the CES Easley branch.
“We’re glad to be here and be a trusted partner our customers can rely on,” said Baker. “We’re also very excited to have the Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce and the Make-A-Wish® South Carolina chapter join us at our grand opening.”
As a national partner of Make-A-Wish®, CES recently surpassed over $2.5 million raised for the organization. Last year, Make-A-Wish® South Carolina granted 247 wishes for children across the state because of partners like CES.
“The support we receive from City Electric Supply helps us continue creating wishes that bring hope, strength, and joy to children facing critical illnesses and to their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives,” said Kea Wade, Make-A-Wish® South Carolina director of corporate & community engagement. “Every dollar raised through the CES Travelers Rest grand opening will help bring more wishes to local children. Research shows that wishes can help children build the emotional and physical strength they need to face a critical illness, making a meaningful impact long after the wish is granted.”
For Travelers Rest wish alum Nate, a wish is about so much more than a single experience. The entire wish journey gave him something to look forward to and brought his whole family closer together to make new memories.
“Nate’s wish to visit Walt Disney World gave him and his family hope and joy while navigating the challenges of kidney disease. His story is a powerful reminder of what a wish can mean for a child and the people who love them,” added Wade. “We’re proud to partner with the City Electric Supply team and look forward to continuing this relationship as we work together to transform lives, one wish at a time.”
As Travelers Rest continues to grow, CES Travelers Rest is here to bring electrical supplies closer to the contractors building it. For one customer, having a CES branch closer to home has already made a significant difference.
“City Electric Supply gives us nationwide access to top quality parts and customer service,” said Justin Bailey, director of construction at Viper Services, a company that services the Upstate South Carolina area, including Greenville, Spartanburg, Simpsonville, and Travelers Rest. “No matter where we are, we can count on there being a CES branch not far away.”
This appreciation for CES’s network and service is shared by another electrical contracting company based in South Carolina.
“The team here at the CES Travelers Rest store have been excellent to work with,” said Peter Guarniero, owner of Upcountry Power & Light LLC. “They have been attentive, communicative and have gone out of their way to help me with both estimates and ordering hard to find parts. Overall, the best team I have worked with in the upstate.”
With CES Travelers Rest officially open, the company continues to invest in Upstate South Carolina and provides local contractors, businesses and communities with the supplies and services to keep growing.
Backed by a national network of more than 750 CES branches across the U.S. and Canada, CES offers the products, services, and specialized solutions customers need to support electrical projects from start to finish, including electrical supplies, assembled panelboards and switchboards, industrial automation, and control systems. By combining national resources with local expertise, CES is a trusted, complete solutions partner for customers across the industry.
