DistributED: Discussing Mergers and Acquisitions With David Clark

It’s been a relatively active 2026 for both electrical manufacturers and distributors in terms of mergers and acquisitions.

It has a lot of people asking if we are on a “normal” pace as past years, and if we will see more activity in the coming months. Additionally, what role do we see private equity firms playing in the future?

David Clark, a partner with Olivewood Advisors, joined the DistributED with tED magazine podcast to talk about what has already happened in 2026, and what he expects for the final three quarters of this year.

Enjoyed podcast with Olivewood advisors. Would be interested in same conversation involving manufacturers consolidating. You could integrate how this consolidation affects distribution, reps…….Also, the scale seems to me to commoditize many products and give much leverage to the larger distributors. For comparison look at the ComData channel, really only Wesco and Graybar left. Just food for thought
