DistributED: The Rich Stinson Exit Interview

After more than 44 years in the electrical industry, Southwire President and CEO Rich Stinson announced he is retiring on January 1, 2026, but would stay with the company to help onboard new President and CEO Ganesh Ramaswamy.

Stinson agreed to sit down for an “Exit Interview” on the DistributED with tED magazine podcast to talk about his career, why he has repeatedly said this is a great time to be in the electrical industry, his accomplishments at Southwire, his leadership style, and his effort to make the entire supply chain better by serving on committees and boards and helping create the “Alliance to Electrify America” with NAED, NECA, NEMA, and NEMRA.

**Publisher’s Note: The video portion of this podcast did not record correctly. We made the decision that the content was so strong, we should publish it so you can hear Mr. Stinson’s comments. – S.C.
