Dresser-Rand to Close Houston Facility, Lay Off Workers

According to the Houston Business Journal, a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission stated that Dresser Rand will close the support facility located at 20120 E. Hardy Road in Houston between February 21 and March 5, 2016. 72 local jobs will be cut.

Dresser-Rand was acquired by Germany-based Siemens AG earlier this year. Dresser-Rand will consolidate the facility’s steam service business into the company’s Houston Service Center. The facility’s gas turbine service business will be consolidated into EthosEnergy, a joint venture between Siemens and Wood Group.

The closure is consistent with the companies’ plan to consolidate their combined operations network.
