Eaton Recognized for Northeast Ohio Community Service

CLEVELAND… Power management company Eaton today announced the company has been named one of Medical Mutual’s Pillar Award winners. The award honors organizations and individuals that best demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in the northeast Ohio community. Award winners were honored in six distinct categories at a ceremony held at LaCentre in Westlake on December 3.

“Our commitment to northeast Ohio began 100 years ago with our founder, Joseph Eaton,” said Don McGrath, Eaton’s senior vice president, Communications.  “We are proud to continue Joseph Eaton’s commitment to the northeast Ohio area and are pleased to share this award with all our employees who serve their communities to improve the lives of our friends and neighbors.”

Eaton has about 1,800 employees at eight Cleveland-area locations serving its global customers in the electrical, aerospace, hydraulics and vehicle businesses. The company currently has more than 90 employees serving on non-profit boards in the greater Cleveland area. In 2012, Eaton contributed nearly $3.5 million to Cleveland-area nonprofit agencies and another $150,000 to other nonprofits in Ohio.

“This class of honorees is truly inspirational,” says Dustin S. Klein, publisher of Smart Business. “They give back individually and as organizations. They get involved in causes they care about. And the nonprofit leaders have forged meaningful relationships with the for-profit companies and their executive teams to better deliver upon their missions.”
