BOLTON, MA — Hosting 56 foursomes and raising approximately $50,000 in funding, Bard, Rao + Athanas Consulting Engineers hosted their 14th Annual Charity Golf Outing in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Taking place on two courses of The International, hundreds of golfers and volunteers took part to contribute to the growing overall total raised every year by the event, which is now close to $340,000.

The Charity Golf Outing was started in support of BR+A employee Nick Johnson, who had been diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a neuromuscular disease covered by MDA. Johnson continues to act as a member of the MDA’s National Taskforce on Public Awareness and plays an integral part in the planning and execution of the outing. “Nick’s strong will and dedication to the fight against MD is inspiring and the fundraiser is a great way to pay tribute,” said BR+A President, Allan Ames.

Every year the golf outing raises a significant amount of funds and awareness for MDA and it is the help and extreme generosity of the sponsors that contribute to the success. The sponsors are made up of many local companies throughout New England, including Electric Supply Center (ESC).

“Once again, the ESC team is thrilled to support and be a part of such a great event,” stated ESC President, Larry LaFreniere. “We are always honored to help in the effort to raise funds and awareness for patients and their families who are struggling with Muscular Dystrophy.”
