Enphase Energy Appoints EMEA General Manager

LYON, France — Enphase Energy, Inc., a global energy technology company, announced that Peter van Berkel has been appointed general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He is focused on building scale into Enphase’s EMEA business and further expanding the company’s core value proposition of quality, reliability and innovation.

Peter van Berkel joins Enphase with more than 20 years of experience at Philips Electronics, where he was responsible for global product strategy and planning, marketing, sales and account management. During his tenure at Philips, van Berkel held various executive roles, including general manager of the light systems business in China, and vice president and market leader for Philips Lighting in Russia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from the Hogeschool Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands and has received executive training at INSEAD, IMD and MIT.

Enphase’s growth in Europe, one of the world’s largest solar markets, is primarily due to its technology leadership and vision for energy management as an easy-to-use, scalable and integrated system. The company’s EMEA headquarters are located in Lyon, France, with offices in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom and Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

“We are excited to have Peter join our team at Enphase,” said Paul Nahi, president and CEO of Enphase. “He brings to the company many years of executive experience managing international teams, along with leadership roles in sales, marketing, product management, and P&L management. With a new general manager in EMEA, we continue to strengthen our team and deepen our talent for global expansion.”

“I am thrilled to join Enphase during such a pivotal growth stage,” said Peter van Berkel. “The company continues to build a strong presence in EMEA, and I look forward to working with the talented team to implement some innovative go-to-market strategies that will help strengthen our position in this dynamic market.”
