Exclusive tED magazine Baird Research Shows Slow Revenue Growth Expected

Read the full story in tED magazine’s January 2016 issue, on page 22.

The latest exclusive tED magazine/Baird research project shows a lower than expected growth in the 3rd quarter of 2015, which could lead to a decrease in expected revenue for the beginning of 2016.  The survey, which has been conducted since 2009, drew more than 200 responses. Two percent of responding firms were manufacturers, while the remainder were distributors; their combined annual revenue topped $20 billion.

Revenue for distributors was up just 0.4 percent in the third quarter of 2016, which is significantly lower than the 4 percent increase distributors saw in the second quarter. This also comes after distributors predicted they would see a 4.7 percent increase in 3rd quarter revenue for 2015.

Respondents also say they expect to see only a slightly higher revenue growth, approximately 0.8 percent, in the fourth quarter of 2015.  Results of that survey will not be available until late February of 2016.

For more on the exclusive research, make sure you read our story beginning on page 22 of the January issue of tED magazine.  It has information on datacom revenues for the third quarter of 2015, plus a breakdown of revenue growth by region and a special informational graphic on pricing expectations for 2016.
