F.D. Lawrence Electric Company Celebrates 110 Years of Service

Cincinnati, OH — The F.D. Lawrence Electric Company is celebrating 110 years of serving the industrial, construction and residential electrical markets in the tri-state area. Dennis O’Leary, President of The F.D. Lawrence Electric Company, attributes the company’s longevity to its strong team and loyal customer base. “Not many companies are fortunate enough to celebrate a milestone like this. It’s a credit to our team members, our manufacturing partners, and to our loyal customers that we have been able to thrive and continue to serve the tri-state.” An independent electrical wholesaler, the F.D. Lawrence Electric Company operates locations in Dayton, OH, Burlington, KY, and Indianapolis, IN along with the headquarters in Cincinnati, OH.

In preparing for the 110 year celebration, employees have enjoyed looking through old photos and documents. “It’s kind of like looking through an old family photo album,” said Vice- president Tony Nocero. “We’ve seen a lot of innovation in 110 years with a big focus on energy efficiency and user safety. What hasn’t changed is that we’ve always stayed close to our core principal of meeting and exceeding customer expectations in all that we do.”

In 2013, The F.D. Lawrence Electric Company was named as a Finalist for the Private Business Awards by the Goering Center for Family & Private Business, at the University of Cincinnati – a leading educational and informational resource center for family and closely held businesses.

Earlier this year, F.D. Lawrence Electric was selected as one of The Enquirer Media Top Workplaces.

Originally located at 219 W. 4th Street historical notes and meeting minutes indicate that F.D. Lawrence Electric leased its first building space for $175.00 per month. The company expanded in 1907 and acquired space at 217 W. 4th Street for $400.00 per month.
