GE Celebrates Mayer Electric Supply’s Newest Location

General Electric Industrial Solutions joined in celebrating Mayer Electric Supply’s grand opening of its Houston location in April. This new branch marks another milestone in the company’s continued growth journey.

The Houston facility offers a 75,000-square-foot warehouse coupled with a 10,000 square-foot office area. It is strategically located off a major interstate for convenient access.

“We could not be more pleased with these new facilities,” said Robert Fields, vice president of Mayer’s Texas Gulf Coast Region. “Consistent with Mayer’s company vision to be the ‘First Choice’ of customers, having a facility like this is just one milestone as we work toward that goal.”

As one of the largest and most rapidly expanding U.S. distributors of electrical supplies, Mayer’s footprint includes locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisiana and Pennsylvania.

“Mayer Electric has been a strategic partner for Industrial Solutions for decades. We welcomed their expansion into the Houston market because of the scale that they can bring to solving customers’ issues,” said Gary Arnott, GE Industrial Solutions general manager – North America. “Our team was honored to attend this open house and demonstrate our support to their new customer base.”

The grand-opening event attracted more than 650 attendees including Mayer’s leadership team and major regional contractors.

“Diversification is important to Mayer and we are committed to offering the products and expertise needed to support Mayer’s growth efforts,” said Dave Karr, national account manager for Mayer Electric Supply. “We’ve been working to expand our partnership with Mayer to include Intelligent Platforms’ automation and control solutions while continuing to grow our core business of electrical distribution products.”

Founded in 1930 and headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., Mayer employs more than 1,100 people and has annual sales of more than $741 million.
