Grainger August Sales Decline 2 Percent

CHICAGO — Grainger reported sales results for the month of August 2015. Sales declined 2 percent versus August 2014.  Results for the month included a 3 percentage point decline from unfavorable foreign exchange and a 1 percentage point increase from acquisitions.  Sales were flat on an organic basis consisting of 1 percentage point from volume offset by a 1 percentage point decline in price.  The month of August 2015 had 21 selling days, the same as August 2014.  The 2015 third quarter will have 64 selling days, the same as the 2014 third quarter.
