ST. LOUIS – Graybar announces the opening of a new sales office in the historic Graybar Building in Manhattan, New York.
The Graybar Building, located at 420 Lexington Avenue next to Grand Central Terminal in midtown Manhattan, served as Graybar’s company headquarters from 1926 until 1982. It was the world’s largest office building in terms of square feet of office space when it opened in 1927.
Graybar left the building in 1982 when it moved its headquarters to St. Louis, but the building has retained the Graybar name ever since. Graybar’s corporate logo remains over the front door and two bronze plaques in the lobby tell the story of Graybar co-founders Elisha Gray and Enos Barton.
“We are excited to once again have a presence in the Graybar Building,” said Graybar President, Chairman and CEO Kathleen M. Mazzarella. “This new sales office will be a valuable addition to Graybar’s New York district and a great reminder of the company’s rich history.”
Graybar’s sales office in the Graybar Building will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The sales office can be reached at (646) 356-4000. A grand opening celebration is planned for spring.
