Horizon Solutions hires new member of leadership team

Horizon Solutions has hired Mike Ales to join the company’s leadership team.


Ales has more than 20 years of experience in the electrical distribution industry. He has experience in several areas, including sales, product management and information technology. Ales most recently served as the vice president of purchasing and operations at Werner Electric.


In his new role, Ales will be responsible for staff and operations for Horizon Solutions’ central distribution center and inventory management/purchasing team.


“Our move to a Central Distribution Center in late 2010 has led to significant improvements in our ability to respond quickly to customers’ product needs and greatly increase our on-time and fill-rate service levels, said Karen Baker, senior vice president of operations at Horizon Solutions. “Mike’s tremendous experience in this area makes us confident that bringing him into our leadership team will enable Horizon to continue to improve these service levels, while also offering the valuable technical, supply chain, and training solutions that have driven our strong growth over the past few years.”


According to a company news release, “Horizon Solutions is a leading distributor of automation, electrical, industrial and safety products and services across the Northeast.”
