IDEA was originally formed to be the product data content standards body for the electrical channel. As part of this leadership role, IDEA is conducting distributor research to determine the high priority product content fields required for today’s distributor eCommerce sites.
In addition to preparing manufacturers for future needed content, IDEA is researching what distributors believe will be needed over the next several years. The eCommerce – digital transformation is constantly evolving and with new technologies like AI (artificial intelligence) becoming available, user experience software requires new levels of product content.
Distributor research enables IDEA to prescribe the standard acceptable product content that manufacturers will be expected to provide.
