Ideal Electric Opens Registration for Annual Fundraiser

For the past twenty three years, the Ideal Companies Scholarship Fund, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization in Washington, D.C., has been helping local high school students achieve their higher academic goals. Through the Ideal Companies Annual Golf Tournament, funds are raised to provide college scholarships to needy students. Since its inception, the Fund has provided more than $220,000 in scholarships to deserving youths.

Over the 30 years from 1983-84 to 2013-14, average published tuition and fees at private nonprofit four-year institutions rose by 153%, from $11,909 (in 2013 dollars) to $30,094. The average published price at public two-year colleges rose by 164%, from $1,235 (in 2013 dollars) to $3,264, while the increase for in-state students at public four-year institutions was 231%, from $2,684 to $8,893. (The College Board trends in College Pricing). As the cost of tuition continues to rise, the Ideal Companies scholarships have become even more valuable.

The Metropolitan Washington community, including several local businesses and organizations, has greatly supported the efforts of the Ideal Companies Scholarship Fund to provide generous scholarships to its recipients.

The annual golf event will be held at the Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia on June 12, 2017. The Belle Haven Country Club has been in the community since the 1920s and has grown with Alexandria throughout the 20th century. Today Belle Haven is well-known for its 18-hole golf course designed by renowned architect Arthur Hills.

The golf event follows the scramble format and features putting, closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and hole-in-one contests. A silent auction is also provided. The proceeds of all auction items, i.e. professional sporting tickets, fine dining, original art and sports artifacts, benefit the Ideal Companies Scholarship Fund.
