Mike Wentz

ARLINGTON, Va. —  The Industry Data Exchange Association (IDEA) announced that Mike Wentz, their Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will be retiring at the end of this month. Wentz has held this position since 2010 and will be stepping down after nearly a decade of service. “I am incredibly fortunate to have worked with such talented and passionate individuals, and to have had the opportunity to serve the electrical channel. I believe that the IDEA model has advanced our industry and has become the envy of other supply chains,” said Wentz.

Wentz started his electrical industry career 38 years ago with a distribution software company. His industry knowledge and technology experience provided him the foundation required to have played a vital role in the maturation and success of IDEA. During Wentz’s tenure as EVP, he contributed to the vision that helped the firm evolve to meet the growing demand for high-quality content and digital integration. His leadership and service have made a significant contribution towards the growth and development of IDEA.

“On behalf of the entire IDEA team I would like to thank Mike for his unwavering commitment to this company and its customers. Mike leaves behind a significant legacy of accomplishment and we are grateful to have had him as a colleague,” said Paul Molitor, President & CEO of IDEA. “We will continue to benefit from his guidance and counsel until his departure.”

Moving forward, IDEA has begun a search for Wentz’s replacement and qualified candidates are being considered. Wentz will be available during this process to provide guidance and consultation in the selection of his future successor as well as their transition into the role.
