IDEA’s Susan Streich Announces Retirement

ARLINGTON, Vir. — Susan Streich, director of strategic accounts at IDEA, has announced her retirement on July 1, 2022.

Streich has helped IDEA achieve over 40% growth during her tenure in the last decade. She has led the first Strategic Account program and pioneered several tools to better serve customers. In addition, she has been a tireless advocate for industry product data and a friend to distributors and manufacturers throughout her participation in countless industry events.

Streich started her career in market research and marketing for the retail industry. She successfully launched the electrical industry market research program for Epicor, which ignited a love for the industry. When approached by IDEA to focus on the electrical industry, she jumped at the chance. Streich has been a key player in the growth of IDEA’s customer base, including recruiting many of the key accounts and managing IDEA’s account management team.

“Susan believes that quality customer service is second to none and has been a tenacious fighter for product and service quality for her customers. She established a wide range of industry alliances that enabled her to improve the perception of IDEA throughout the electrical industry. She has overachieved consistently and still found time to volunteer with industry groups, like Women in Industry and the AdVenture Marketing group. Her impressive work ethic and many contributions will be missed,” said Mike Wentz, vice president of sales at IDEA.

Streich plans on spending more time with her three grandchildren, as well as gardening and fishing. According to Streich, she will miss seeing the wonderful people in the industry, but she won’t miss traveling all over the country.

Streich will continue to consult with IDEA through the third quarter of 2022 to ensure a smooth transition.

IDEA is an industry-owned service provider with the mission to assume a leadership position in facilitating the exchange of complete, high-quality, commercial-grade transactional and e-commerce content and serving as the electrical industry’s standards body. In support of that mission, IDEA has recently announced global syndication to all continents except Antarctica, a partnership with Enable to create an industry-endorsed rebate management platform, and the Harmonized Data Model (HDM) initiative, initiated by NEMA and NAED, to resolve the challenge of multiple formats and inconsistent data.

Congratulations Susan! I so enjoyed the many moments we were able to share during industry events over the years. I wish you the most enjoyable retirement! Enjoy those grandkids before they grow up (like mine have)!
