IEC Announces 2022 Awards of Excellence

ARLINGTON, Vir. – Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) is pleased to announce the winners of its prestigious 2022 IEC National Excellence in Construction Awards. Presented during IEC’s annual event, SPARK: Power Tomorrow, the awards recognize IEC contractor member companies that exhibit excellence in electrical or systems construction by striving for total quality and excellence. The winners are selected from projects completed between July 16, 2021–July 15, 2022, regardless of start date. 

The 2022 IEC National Award submissions were judged by an esteemed panel of leaders within the electrical industry that include: Jane Allred, Bryan Beckett, Jack Brown, Warren Clemons, Shawn Corrigan, Steve Denier, Leighland Gutierrez, Todd Hawkins, Brian Hines, Cara Herbstritt, Robbie Jones, Jim MacMurdo, Bret Martin, Jon Martin, Allan Matsuo, Shirlee McArthur, Eric Peralez, Lowell Reith, Natasha Sherwood, Marilyn Stansbury. Barbara Tipton, Michael E Vandergriff, Kristi Wickard. 

The winners of the IEC 2022 Excellence in Electrical Construction Awards include: 

Residential Construction (Single family and multifamily residences) 

  • Category A: Single-family residences (including new construction or renovation)
    The House of Helm: Corrigan Electric, IEC of Kentucky and Southern Indiana 
  • Category B: Multi-family residences to three stories, including senior housing facilities
    Notable / 730 Simms: 1st Electric Contractors, IEC Rocky Mountain 
  • Category C: Multi-family, mid-rise buildings above three stories
    The Edit: 1st Electric Contractors, IEC Rocky Mountain 

Commercial Construction (Office buildings, institutions, banks, restaurants, retail facilities, churches, outdoor lighting, etc.) 

  • Category A: Electrical contract amounts up to $500,000
    Belle Tire West Lafayette: Ridgeline Electrical Industries, LLC, IEC Indy 
  • Category B: Electrical contract amounts from $500,001 to $1,500,000
    National Mounted Warrior Museum: R.K. Bass Electric, CenTex IEC 
  • Category C: Electrical contract amounts from $1,500,001 to $5,000,000
    Valley City State University Center for the Arts: Bergstrom Electric, Inc., IEC Dakotas 
  • Category D: Electrical contract amounts from $5,000,001 to $7,000,000
    Pikes Peak Summit House: Encore Electric, IEC Rocky Mountain 
  • Category E: Electrical contract amounts over $7,000,000
    DEN 8 Industrial Warehouse, Weifield Group Contracting, IEC Rocky Mountain 

Industrial Construction (Manufacturing, utilities, processing, transportation, warehouses, etc.) 

  • Category B: Electrical contract amounts from $500,001 to $1,500,000
    BioLab Conyers: Pat Murphy Electric, Inc., Atlanta Chapter IEC 
  • Category C: Electrical contract amounts from $1,500,001 to $3,000,000
    GenCanna CBD Production Facility: Fayette Electrical Service, IEC of the Bluegrass 
  • Category D: Electrical contract amounts from $3,00,001 to $7,000,000
    Axogen: Ohio Valley Electrical Services, Inc., IEC of Greater Cincinnati 
  • Category E: Electrical contract amounts over $7,000,000
