IMARK Group has announced the creation of IMARK Utility—the company’s entrance into the utility market.
IMARK Utility will focus on REA, co-ops and municipal utilities that buy their electrical supplies through electrical wholesalers. It will not target investor owned utilities (IOUs).
The company said it has several members that conduct business in the utility market and also noted a shift in this market segment, which is resulting in a higher volume of electrical supplies being purchased through electrical wholesalers.
IMARK’s three new, utility-specific members are General Pacific of Portland, Ore., RESCO of Middleton, Wis. and Western United of Brighton, Colo. The three new members will join a core group of IMARK Utility members which also includes Dakota Supply Group of Fargo, N.D., Electric Supply of Tampa, Fla., Harry Cooper Supply of Springfield, Mo., NEDCO Las Vegas and Wildcat Electric of Houston. IMARK expects this group to grow over time.
Members of IMARK Utility have a dedicated utility business with resources to grow with these customers. The company said its utility members also have unique inventory, people and knowledge to support the market segment.
