JACKSON, Miss. — Irby, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, recently celebrated its 75th anniversary with Rockwell Automation. Irby was founded in 1926, by Stuart C. Irby, in Jackson, Mississippi. Acquired by Sonepar in 2005, Irby is still headquartered in Jackson.
Irby began its partnership with Rockwell in 1941, with only a couple of branches. Today, Irby has 59 locations in 25 states, with 18 of those markets being dedicated to Rockwell Automation products. Irby employs Rockwell Automation Specialists who are expertly trained in their product class, making them highly knowledgeable in their field. These specialists also work hand-in-hand with the Rockwell product managers to grow the Rockwell business.
Rockwell recently held the 25th Annual Rockwell Automation 2016 Automation Fair® in Atlanta, Georgia. This event gave Irby and its customers a chance to celebrate the 75 year partnership with Rockwell and to learn about the latest Rockwell Automation products. While in Atlanta, Irby hosted a celebratory dinner atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza at the Sundial Restaurant. Over 300 attendees enjoyed a night of fellowship, food and incredible city views. Newly appointed Irby President, Mike Leech said, “This was a true celebration event. Irby is grateful to have partnered with Rockwell Automation 75 years ago and is looking forward to the next 75!”
