Irby to Add Four New States to its Utility Footprint by the End of the Year

Jackson, MS — Irby, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, is proud to announce the opening of three new distribution locations for its Irby Utilities division in Omaha, Nebraska; Harrison, New Jersey and Madison, Wisconsin. These locations will be open for business by the end of 2014 and will help provide better service to customers in those states. “Opening new facilities in these locations shows our commitment to the utility market space and directly to our utility customers in these states,” said Mike Wigton, President of Irby. “We are driven to provide the best service in the utility industry and are proud of the enhanced service and support that we’ll be able to provide with local inventory and logistics capabilities in these markets.”

The fourth location will be a new Tool Repair Center located in Shelbyville, IL. This location will focus on the repair of mechanical, battery, hydraulic, gasoline and electric tools used by linemen and electricians to build and maintain the electric grid. “Opening a Tool Repair Center in Illinois provides additional capacity to our repair operations and will reduce the tool repair time for customers in Illinois and the surrounding states” said Brad Slocum, Irby Vice President of Utility Operations. “We are excited about opening this new Tool Repair Center and look forward to expanding the services we offer.” This will be Irby’s third Tool Repair Center with the other locations strategically located in Mississippi and New York.
